This week, Key Stage 1 came together for a very special Butterfly Release Picnic. In Science, the children have been learning about animal groups, habitats and life cycles. To bring this learning to life, Miss Kerry and Miss Langrick wanted the children to experience the full butterfly life cycle. And, because the children have been so amazing this year, the celebration also included a special picnic treat!

Some butterflies were ready to spread their wings and fly away, while others seemed quite happy to stay with us at Model Village… and we can understand why!

The children have loved watching the butterflies grow and have cared for them thoughtfully through every stage of their journey. One child summed up the day perfectly by saying:
“It’s the best day in Year 2!”

It was a truly memorable experience for everyone in Key Stage 1. A huge thank you to our teachers, TAs, catering team and, of course, our wonderful children.
