To celebrate Model Village’s school's OPAL Play journey, the Arts Council children were given the exciting challenge of designing and creating a large mural for the playground.

The children began by discussing and listing their favourite OPAL Play activities and the different ways they enjoy playing, exploring and being creative outdoors. They then incorporated these ideas into a vibrant design, surrounding the OPAL lettering with colourful illustrations that showcased the many play opportunities available during lunchtime adventures.

The finished mural is a wonderful celebration of the outdoor play environment and reflects the children's ideas and enthusiasm for OPAL Play. A huge thank you to the MVPS Arts Council children for their fantastic collaboration and hard work on this inspiring project.

The completed OPAL Play mural, designed and created by the MVPS Arts Council children, was installed in the main playground in June 2026.
